..love the way you've captured the fall of light, beautifully controlled exposure. Really striking, and an image to ponder and explore the textures, tones and shadows. Captivates!

I looked at this, thought 'Ooh, lovely light' and nearly moved on, but instead I downloaded it, cropped out the border and sat staring at it for ages.

I think the combination of the width of the border, the two-toneness and the distracting colour of the watermark rather detract from the image.

(Sorry, I always feel like such a bitch saying things like that, but it makes me sad when amazing images get eaten by borders).

But anyhoo, I adore the fragility offered by the lighting in this. It's just gorgeous, Jeff, masterly use of light and colour.

I'm in two minds about borders and watermarks, I can see both sides of the argument - if you'd seen any of my very early work on this account, you'd recall my previous stamp (which was much more garish and definitely distracting!!). The main issue is that I use the images for more than one purpose, and other places need a watermark on them (mainly for identification purposes).

I appreciate that you took the time to take a closer look - I'm sure there are plenty of people who would not bother, which is a sad outcome but perhaps reflects the sad reality of what DA has become. I might take another look at it and upload another with adjustments if time permits - don't feel bad about speaking your mind, there's not enough of it in this place - and it's supposed to be a serious art site!!

I think this turned out far better than I planned, there's not even that much editing in it, just some curves and brightness tweaking!! Some days I get lucky, just not as often as I would like!! :D
